Kundalini is a more holistic form of yoga than others on
offer today. It consists of several
elements all of which are brought into every session or class.

It has only been taught in the West for about forty years
although it’s history in India goes back for millennia. It was traditionally a raj or royal yoga
reserved for the high-ranking families.
In the early 1960’s Yogi Bhajan travelled to the U.S. and began to teach
it because he believed that the people here in the West were ready and needed
to know it’s teachings.
Kundalini yoga can be described as a technology for
spiritual growth. I like to call it self-help for the soul. It’s techniques are profoundly
transformational and work more rapidly than any other form of yoga.
Yoga literally derives from the Sanskrit meaning ‘unite’
or join, our word yoke derives from it.
The practice of yoga has existed for thousands of years, before written
records. It’s purpose is to achieve
unity or one-ness with the Universal Energy, the Cosmos, Divinity or GOD; whatever name you give this Power. In practising
yoga we learn to attune our minds to one universal spirit, which flows through
us all and is the source of all energy.
Kundalini yoga is a science which when applied gives you strength
to change, to expand your capacity for life. It provides power to change, it
carries it’s own legacy of total integrity beyond the personality and has a
historical lineage. It brings out your
innate inner radiance.
The Kundalini energy is that potential held curled up or dormant inside you, which this yoga uncoils. That uncoiling or manifestation of your power is called Kundalini.
Kundalini yoga is the fastest way to achieve
transformation or enlightenment. Think
of a diamond having many facets, other forms of yoga represent a single facet
of the diamond whilst Kundalini yoga is the entire diamond.
WHY KUNDALINI YOGA?
“By the year 2013, the world population will
be seven billion. The change in
technology, psychology and sociology will be huge. The chaos of information in the computer age will make it
difficult for people to cope with their day to day lives. The body, mind, and spirit will have to be
organized to meet these natural human phenomena.
Every human, no matter to which religion they
belong, will face a reality in the future where they will need a strong,
healthy, nervous system. They will need
mental clarity and the back-up of
spiritual strength to face this coming world. We can say with confidence, the only way to do this is through
yogic techniques by which body, mind and spirit can be enhanced.
To sustain themselves, tomorrow’s
individuals must have yogic training.
It is a need of the times. By
2013, forty to sixty percent of the population will be practising yoga. People will see that those who practice yoga
are bright and beautiful, calm and blissful.
They will recognize that the yogic community is sincere and dependable,
serving and giving.
Yoga, with its every system, is going to
prevail. We clearly see this trend and it
will lead to the end of human insanity and the prevalence of yogic glory. Yoga
is a science for all humanity. It is
the custodian of human grace and radiance.
It holds a great future for every human being. It brings mental calibre for purpose and prosperity of life. The future of yoga is bright, bountiful and
blissful.”
